Life has been a bit crazy recently so I thought why not do a blog post reflecting on 2017 so far being as we are half way through it (I have no idea where the time has gone but here we are in June).

2017 SO FAR!
Oh hi. It's me. It's been a while. Awkward. I apologise.
Life has been a bit crazy recently so I thought why not do a blog post reflecting on 2017 so far being as we are half way through it (I have no idea where the time has gone but here we are in June).

I AM 21!
Hi. It's been a while. I am sorry. But it's okay. Here I am with a new post (yay buzzing).
So yeah the title says it all. I am now 21 (*sings* and it's all downhill from heeeerrrrreeee). But yes, it was my birthday yesterday (Tuesday 11th April) so I thought I would do a post about it because why not?! And I've also really missed my blog this past month since I got this job. I'm hoping to do a post about coping with anxiety and having a job soon as well because spoiler alert...it's pretty difficult.

I GOT A JOB!
A year ago, I put up a post called 'Anxiety and Jobs' (http://jodderss.blogspot.com/2016/02/anxiety-and-jobs.html). In that post, I mentioned how getting a job was a terrifying thing to me and I just didn't know if I would be able to handle it.

2016 ALBUM FAVOURITES!
At the start of last year, I did a post about my favourite albums from 2015 (which you can check out here if you would like to - http://jodderss.blogspot.com/2016/01/favourite-albums-during-2015.html). So because it is now 2017, I thought I would do the same again but obviously with albums that I was loving last year.
Little Mix - Glory Days
I'm not someone who follows Little Mix or keeps up with everything they do but I do love their music. I loved Get Weird and it has been album that I have listened to a lot last year but I wanted to add Glory Days into this post instead. I listened to Glory Days on Spotify as soon as it came out and I'll be honest, I didn't know what to think of it when I first listened to it. The only song that I genuinely like straight away was Power. As I've continued to listen to the album, I've fallen in love with it. Power is still one of my favourites as well as Nobody Like You, Nothing Else Matter, Beep Beep and F.U.

GOODBYE 2016!
2016 is finally over and I'm sure many people, including myself, feel so relieved that it is now 2017. Let's be honest, Kylie Jenner was right when she said that 2016 was going to be the year of realising stuff.

IT'S DECEMBER!
IT'S CHRIIIIIISSSSSTMAAAAASSSSS...okay well not yet but I feel like I can now do all things Christmas without being judged! (I started to listen to Christmas songs a few weeks ago and I genuinely didn't care about being judged...it's never to early for a bit of Bublé)
Being as it is now technically Christmas time, I am planning to do Christmas based posts (I hope to anyway). I won't be doing Blogmas because I am not awesome enough but I have got some posts planned. Let's just hope I manage to pull myself together and actually do them.

FIREWORKS WITH FRIENDS!
So I met up with some friends last Thursday (yay I decided to have a social life for once), and as a last minute decision, we decided to go to see some fireworks being as it was going to be Bonfire Night on the Saturday. Despite the fact that it had been raining and that I was freezing (I couldn't feel my feet...fabulous), I still managed to have a good night even though my anxiety was trying to take over.

I WENT OUT AND SOCIALISED WITH FRIENDS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2 MONTHS!
On Saturday (22nd October 2016), I managed to leave the house and meet up with friends at our local Spoons (also known as Wetherspoons). Now you are probably thinking "Why is she making a big deal out of this?"...which is completely understandable as it probably seems a bit weird that I'm celebrating the fact I left the house to see friends...but it is a big deal to me.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY!
So today (10th October) is world mental health day. If you've read some of my other posts then you will know that I have been open with the fact that I have anxiety.
Let's try and ignore the fact that I am such a fail for not posting on my blog for a few months...oops. I would love to say that the reason I haven't blogged in a while is because I live such a busy, social and happy life that I just don't have time to blog...but that's not the case at all. My mental health hasn't been in a great place recently and because of this, I've just really found it difficult to motivate myself to do anything.

WEDDING OUTFIT AND MAKEUP!
So I thought I would do just a small post on my outfit for the wedding and my makeup.

EVERYDAY MAKEUP!
Before I start this, I just want to say that I am not a makeup artist. I'm still learning how to apply makeup properly (especially eye makeup) so please don't judge me at how awful I am ;)
I also want to say that I've decided to do something a little bit different today. Instead of just writing down step by step of my makeup routine, I decided to film it as well in case there were people who would rather watch instead of read :) This isn't me becoming a youtuber, this is just for the purpose of the blog and to make things a little easier. I may do more things like this in the future if any of you actually like it so please feel free to let me know :)
Okay...onto the post (finally).
So I have decided to do a post about my everyday makeup routine. I pretty much wear makeup everyday even if I'm not really leaving the house. It's something I enjoy doing and let's be honest, it improves the way I look a little bit ;)

WALKING WALKING WALKING!
I know it's hard to believe but we actually had nice weather in England the other week (I know, I am just as shocked as you are).
When the weather gets warmer, I tend to feel more motivated. Especially when it comes to leaving the house. Unfortunately, I haven't been feeling the best for the past month so I've had no motivation for anything which has sucked. I actually planned to write this post a couple of weeks ago but I haven't been in the right mind set for it because of my anxiety and other crap.

THINGS THAT GET ME THROUGH MY BAD DAYS!
One thing that I always remember that my doctor told me about my anxiety is that I would have bad days but I would also have good days. When I have bad days, I just want to hideaway from everything and everyone. I'm that person that never turns to people if I'm feeling down because I struggle to do so. But I always want people to feel like they can turn to me if they aren't feeling great themselves.
During my bad days. I will either feel really anxious or just really down to the point where my head is in overdrive with negative thoughts...bad days tend to hit me really hard. To get me through days like this, I do have things I can turn to that just help make the day a little easier to get through.

BEEPING HORNS, WHISTLING AND SHOUTING AT RANDOM PEOPLE IS NOT OKAY!
I want to write this post because I have experienced this a lot...a lot more than I should. I even experienced this last night so I thought I could write about it.
Basically, why do people feel the need to beep their horns, whistle or shout at random people? This has happened to me so many times and each time it has been a male that has done it! I'm not saying that girls don't do it to guys as I have never experienced it or heard a story about it but if there are girls who do this then they are disgusting...no matter what gender you are, trying to scare, intimidate or make someone uncomfortable for the 'lols' is NOT okay!

L'ORÉAL PARIS STUDIO LINE WAVE CREATING SPRAY!
You know when you get money and you think you can buy anything even though you probably don't need it? Well that's pretty much what I did with this spray. I bought it thinking that you could spray it onto straightened hair and it will make your hair go wavy...this is the perfect example of buying something without reading what it does. Luckily it was only £1 something so I wasn't too annoyed with myself.

RECENT FAVOURITES!
I was going to do a January favourites at the start of February but I literally have no idea why I didn't do it. So instead jut doing a 'February Favourites' post, I've decided to mix both months together and do a 'Recent Favourites' post instead because why not?!!!
Benefit Roller Lash
I have heard so many good things about this mascara so I decided to treat myself with the money I got from Christmas. Obviously I only got the small one as it was only £9 something in Boots because I couldn't quite afford the bigger one but it's managed to last for about 2 months which is great. This is probably the most expensive mascara I have owned it is honestly one of the best as well. It applies nicely and there are no clumps and it's easy to get off at the end of the day when it's time to remove all of your makeup.

ANXIETY AND JOBS!
Everyone around me seems to have their lives sorted out. They either have a job or they are at uni. Me on the other hand, I have nothing other than a dull life. I spend my days wishing that I had the confidence and the motivation to do things that everyone else manages to do but I struggle with.
While getting a job to some people is 'exciting' and an 'easy' thing to do, for me it's a terrifying thing. If you were to hold me over the edge of a very tall building, I probably would still find getting a job more terrifying than that. Obviously it's normal for people to get those 'job nerves' but for me, it's a lot more than just 'nerves'.

CURLY HAIR!
On my old blog, I did a post about about what it's like having curly hair and I was pretty proud of that post so because of that, I want to post it on this blog :)
So here are 15 things of what I have to deal with when it comes to my natural curly hair!
1) Can't brush curly hair: People with curly hair know that it is a struggle to brush curly hair. If I brush my hair, it goes really bushy and frizzy and it just isn't good for my hair. The only time I brush my hair is before I have a shower and the amount of times I have feared for my hairbrushes life is unreal. I even broke my comb one time.
2) Finding the right products: For me personally, I find it hard to find the right products for me hair. At the moment, the shampoo that I am using is apparently for 'frizzy hair'...it is making my hair even more frizzy than it already is (but it smells like blueberries so I don't want to stop using it). 'Frizz-Ease'?...more like 'Frizz-Please'
3) Sleeping on it: I always love my hair just after I have washed it. The curls are usually more defined and not so frizzy. Then when I wake up the next day, the frizz and the knots have arrived...my is basically just one big mess. It's quite upsetting.
4) 'Quick' showers: When you have curly hair, there is no such thing as a 'quick shower'. My family always tease me about how long I am in the shower for but I actually can't help it. I have a lot of hair so a quick shower for me is 15-20 minutes.
5) People like to touch curly hair like they have never seen it before: I always seem to have people touching my hair. It's like they've grew up in a world surrounded by straight hair and then BOOM I appear with my curly hair and it's like a miracle has happened. The only way I can describe it is when you are sitting in lesson at school and all of a sudden it starts to snow and everyone is fascinated by the white stuff outside as if they have never seen it before.
6) Hands get stuck: When people do touch my hair, their hand always gets awkwardly stuck and they are just standing there trying to get it out. I've also managed to get my own hands stuck in my hair on a numerous occasions.
7) "Is your hair naturally curly?": I get this question a lot. I would be rich if I got a pound every time someone has asked me this question. Everyone seems to look so amazed when I answer with 'yes'.
11) People commenting on your straight hair but you still get offended: Whenever I've got my hair straight, people do complement me but for some strange reason, I start to get offended. Person: "Your hair looks so nice straight" Me: "Thank you" My brain: "Oh, so I don't look good with curly hair?..are my curls not good enough?"
12) Gets in everyone's faces: As well as it getting into my face all the time, it also gets into everyone else's. If I'm hugging someone, they always seem to make a comment about it getting in their face or that it's in the mouth and eyes. I wouldn't be surprised if my friends have had hairballs after hugging me.
13) Rain: Need I say more? As soon as my hair comes into contact with rain BOOM the frizz has arrived.
14) Getting things in it: I have lost count of the times I have had food in my hair. Sometimes I don't even know how it's got into my hair.
15) You can do a lot with curly hair (apparently): People always say to me that I could do so much with my hair...yet I still keep it down and curly. I don't like taking the risk of doing something with my hair then by the end of the day, it just looks a mess. Plus it might not seem like it after reading this post but I do really love my hair and I prefer it not to be styled.

8) "How long does it take to straighten?": This is another question that I get a lot. People then get shocked when I tell them 'Oh, just about half an hour' as they seem to think it takes days...weeks...months even. I have curly hair, not the Amazon rainforest.
9) "You are so lucky to have curly hair" "I wish I had hair like yours": I also get these said a lot. I think it's lovely when people say this but if they could actually see what's its like to deal with curly hair then they would probably take back what they said. So much time and effort goes into having hair like this and life would be so much easier for me if I did have straight hair.
10) Straightening curly hair: Like I said before, my hair doesn't take long to straighten. But it does take a lot of effort. I have to section my hair and because of this, my hair is in my face so I can't see what's going on. I have to keep straightening one piece of hair until its straight. The thickness of my hair and the heat of the straighteners really don't mix. I try and not straighten my hair too much but I like having straight hair so I am constantly debating with myself. Life problems.

2015 ALBUM FAVOURITES!
Something that I did on my old blog was talk about the music I had been loving at the time. So I thought being as we are now in 2016. I could do a post about the albums I had been loving (and still loving) in 2015.
James Bay - Chaos And The Calm

James Bay is one artist I have been loving since I first found out about him at the end of 2014. His voice is so perfect and chilled and I just love him. I would have to say that my favourite songs on this album are Move Together, Scars, Running, Best Fake Smile and If You Ever Want To Be In Love. I think this is a perfect album if you just want to chill out with a hot drink or a cheeky alcoholic drink (if you are legal to of course).
Fall Out Boy - American Beauty/American Psycho
Fall Out Boy are one of my favourite bands so obviously I am going to include them in this ;) What I like about this album is that it is different from their other albums. Obviously I do miss their old style but I would be lying if I said I didn't love their new style as well. I would say what my favourite songs of this album are but I would end up listing pretty much the whole album ;)
The Weeknd - Beauty Behind The Madness
I have been a fan of The Weeknd pretty much since Crew Love was released and he has never let me down with any of his music. This album came out the same day as Halsey's (I will talk about Badlands ;)) so I had two albums that I was excited to listen to! Dark Times is one of my favourites and the fact that Ed Sheeran is on that song makes it even better. Tell Your Friends, Often, Losers, The Hills, Acquainted...I am literally about to start listing all of the songs on the album because I am just in love with pretty much every song.
All Time Low - Future Hearts
Can I just start off by saying that All Time Low are such a good band *cries*...anyway...this album is brilliant. I love it!! Pretty much all of the songs on this album are amazing and I am in love with them all. Tidal Waves was the song I fell in love with straight away and also Bail Me Out. At the moment, I am still obsessed with Satellite!
Jess Glynne - I Cry When I Laugh
Honestly, this album was something I decided to randomly listen to when it came out and I wasn't expecting to love it as much I did. She has got such an incredible voice and she really proves it on this album. I fell in love with Take Me Home the second I listened to it as the lyrics are beautiful and moving. I was expecting the album to be filled with upbeat songs like Hold My Hand and Right Here but it was so nice to know that she can also do songs like Take Me Home and Saddest Vanilla.
Halsey - Badlands
This album has been out since August and it still gives me life!! I started to become a big fan of Halsey from the start of 2015 and I have been loving her ever since. This album is amazing (and I'm not just saying that because I love her). There are so many good songs on this album that you can just chill and listen to. Plus, I am in love with the majority of the lyrics. Colors has been my favourite song since I first heard it and I'm still not bored of it yet.
Bring Me The Horizon - That's The Spirit
I'll be honest, before this album, I had never really listened to BMTH as I never really gave them the chance. The only songs I had really listened to were Drown, Can You Feel My Heart and Shadow Moses. When this album came out, I decided to listen to it on Spotify as I wanted some new music to listen to. I loved Drown when I first head it so I expected this album to be decent...and it was. It shocked me how much I actually loved this album. Happy Song is definitely one of my favourite songs off the album.
The Vamps - Wake Up
The Vamps are another one of my favourite bands and I have seen them pretty much grow as a band before even Connor joined. I remember in 2013 when I went to see them at a free gig when they weren't really known and we were in the 3rd row. My throat is still messed up from that gig I swear! But anyway, obviously I am going to say this album is amazing (which it is ;)). I am loving Boy Without A Car, Half Way There, Coming Home, Be With You and Stolen Moments.
Twenty One Pilots - Blurryface
Twenty One Pilots have always been a band that I have known about but never actually listened to their music...until about August/September time...and I am annoyed at myself for not listening to them sooner. What I love about them is that they don't really have a set genre and I actually really like that. Heavydirtysoul, Goner, Doubt, Tear In My Heart, Polarize and Stressed Out are probably my favourites off this album.
Justin Bieber - Purpose
Justin Bieber has always been a bit of guilty pleasure of mine as I never really liked him but I did really like a lot of his music. 2015 was a very good year for the Biebs and I would like to think he has won everyone over (because he has won me over). I was pretty excited to listen to this album after hearing the songs he had already released and also because of the song he did with Halsey. When I listened to the album, I listened to The Feeling straight away and fell in love it. I am not just saying it because I love Halsey but that is my favourite song off the album ;) But this album is really decent and I can't help but applaud Justin!!
One Direction - Made In The A.M.
Obviously I had to add this into this post ;) When Zayn left, I was abit worried about how their new music was going to turn out being as Zayn's vocals are incredible and play a big part in One Direction songs. But this album has proved that Zayn's vocals aren't really needed (I tried not to say that in a mean way). This album is just perfect (no pun intended ;)) and I love it!! I am actually struggling to pick my favourite songs because I will end up listing the whole album. The only problem I have with this album is that a chill song will play (Long Way Down) so you start to feel chilled and relax.... then boom, you end up crapping yourself because a karate type of noise is the next thing you hear (Never Enough is a really good song though)...that's the only problem I have with the album though ;)
The Maine - American Candy
Like with Twenty One Pilots, I only really started listening to The Maine around about the same time...and as well, I am annoyed that I didn't start listening to them sooner. They are such a good band!! This album is such a chill out album, I love it. I am loving pretty much every song on this album. I think English Girls, Another Night On Mars and My Hair are my favourites though!
5 Seconds of Summer - Sounds Good Feels Good
So yeah this album is good....
....IT'S BLOODY AMAZING!! If you know me then you will know that I am a big 5SOS fan ;) The build up to this album was so tense and I was just so excited because new 5SOS music is what I live for. This album is honestly perfect and also beautifully written. Some of the songs on this album mean a lot to me and this album in general has got me through these past few shitty months. Songs like Invisible, Broken Home and The Girl Who Cried Wolf are songs that could make you cry (I was a right mess when I listened to them) but you also have songs like Money, Waste The Night and Catch Fire that make you just want to jump around and dance. I would list my favourite songs but I just love them all...I still can't get over how incredible this album is! I am gutted that I won't be seeing them live this year as I would love to see a lot of these songs being performed live and also because they are my favourite band :(
Has anybody else been loving any of these albums? or any other album? :) x
